   Keep in mind that you are not going to have much help in loading and unloading your baggage at every halt. Keep your travel luggage light by carrying only the basic necessities. Mainly, do not carry any valuables with you along your trip.

   Certain valuables like your passport and money to travel are unavoidable while making a trip. But do not carry them with you everywhere while on a city tour. Lock them up in the hotel’s locker. Carry only sufficient money for the day and not everything that you have brought along with you.
4. Don’t trust people easily
   You may come across some lovely people during your trip, go at it. However, keep in mind that they are still strangers. Ask for directions, suggestions, etc. but stop there. If they happen to offer you a drink or a meal at their place, it is advisable to politely decline the offer.

   Remember that you are alone and need to look after yourself. It is always better to keep your drinks limited and choose a place that has good reviews and you feel safe around.
6. Don’t go into isolated areas
   It is always better to not take the crooked or tiny routes that you find in the city. While exploring is a must, ensure that the areas you visit have people around and is not isolated.
7. Use public transport at night
   No matter where you are, if you have the option, opt for the public transport back to your stay at night. This ensures that there are people around you to help you if needed.

   It is always better to have access to your safety contacts just in case. Get an international plan for your mobile number one you reach.
9. Don’t post on real time on social media
   As tempted as you might be to post beautiful pictures of where you and what you are doing, STOP. You never know who is watching or trying to follow you. Wait until you have left the location to post.
