Trust is the most liberating thing a woman can have. It makes you and the world feel attracted to you. But confidence is an uphill climb, hampered by expectations, doubt and comparison. Adopting the confidence that you are actually a powerful person begins with recognizing that confidence is not perfect, but real and self-real.

Understand Your Strengths

Confidence begins with self-awareness. Take some time to think about what you are good at, what you are good at, and what makes you different. Feel good about all the successes you have had big or small and remind yourself that there is always a bump in the road. It can be very helpful to write things down in order to improve your self-confidence.

Silence the Inner Critic

All women have that inner critic, and sometimes it is too harsh. SUBSTITUTE positive thoughts for negative self-talk. If you want to tell yourself “I’m not good enough,” instead say “I am capable and strong.” The way you think about it helps change the mind set from fear to possibility.

Break Out of Your Stuck Position — You Don’t Want To Be Here!

Development is not your safe zone. Little scouting-minded risks are a way to develop trust. Whether it’s a loud word in a meeting, a new skill or a hobby, every step out of your comfort zone makes you stronger.

Surround Yourself with Positivity

The company you have can also influence how confident you are. Find people who lift you up. Become part of communities or groups of women with the same vision and values. Having the support of others helps you feel included and empowered.

Embrace Imperfections

Confidence doesn’t entail being perfect, but in the imperfection and from the mistakes. Remember that no one is perfect, and that’s OK. Authenticity is stronger than the illusion of perfect.

Practice Self-Care

You need to take care of yourself so that you don’t lose confidence. When you look out for your physical, emotional and mental health, you reaffirm that you’re worth it. Make sure you do exercises, eat well, get enough rest, and do what makes you happy.

Be Your Own Cheerleader

Your trust comes from the inside, at the end of the day. Recognize who you are and believe in yourself. And re-cap: All women are capable of amazing things when they trust themselves.

“Fear isn’t what confidence is; fear is when you act. By becoming the person you really are, you can live a life that people can be moved by and honor your story.
