Are you feeling irritable before or during your cycle? Or generally?
We all get a little irritable now and then but us females can often find we are more irritable when it comes to our monthly cycle. Sometimes before or during. This is a normal response to the way our hormones are at this given time, a very different thing to when we are generally irritated and it can sometimes be more intense.
One suggestion to help with irritability around your cycle is to find the source, once you find the source you can avoid it. Go into another room or perhaps go for a walk. However you wish to avoid the thing that is irritating you is ok. Just avoid the source. Fresh air can help a lot.
Certain things can irritate us more than others, perhaps you have a problem you are dealing with. Sharing problem and concerns will help you be less irritated with whatever it is, so talk to close trusted friends. A problem shared is a problem halved as the saying goes.
Go for a run, walk cycle or visit the gym, exercise if a great way to channel your frustration, anger etc. It also helps with those hormone blues. There is nothing like grabbing time with a hot herbal tea and putting on your comfy clothes with a good book or a feel good movie to help you relax. Maybe apply a face mask and really relax. After a hot soak in a bubble bath of course. Allowing time for you, IS ok.
Count to ten, take a deep breath before reacting. Remember we are in control of our own emotions and how you choose to respond to the outside world. It is not what happens to us but how we respond to any given situation. Don’t let anyone or anything dull your sparkle. Count to ten, deep breath and you have given yourself time to respond more rationally.
Breath deeply and focus on your breathing. Close your eyes, relax, take a deep slow breath in through your nose and slowly release through your mouth, repeat several times. This breathing exercise can help relax your mind and muscles. Do it regularly and it will become natural and you will feel the benefit. Try Meditation and breathing, you’ll be amazed with the results.
Above all, allow time for you, if you are in a situation where you are feeling irritated, take yourself out of the situation, spend sometime with YOU. Sleep is also a great medicine for how we feel.
Keep smiling & stay gorgeous, we are all prettier when we smile and you will feel more uplifted for it J
