Komal Sharma; an all-rounder with a big heart!

Jack of all, King of none is passé for Komal Sharma! She is the queen of everything that she takes up.

Komal Sharma is a squash player who has won several junior and senior National squash championships. She believes that the sport not only helps her be in her best physical shape, but also keeps her mentally fit. Focus is a major factor considered in any sport and so it is for squash as well. She says it helps keep her mind alert always and helps her work and concentrate for longer hours. Also, being surrounded by other squash players, she feels that the high energy and vibe just keeps her going.

Komal Sharma’s fit physique and sharp features has opened several other doors for her.  Starting with endorsing for many brands as a sportsperson, her talent and flair for modelling was newly found. She went on to win the IBIBO-fresh faces of India and Miss Metropolis 2009. Other titles that she has won are; Sunsilk miss Tamil Nadu, Lux Miss beautiful skin of Tamil Nadu, Lux miss beautiful skin of south India and was also crowned as Miss Tamil Nadu twice in two different beauty pageants. This helped her beautifully shape her modelling career and gave her a platform to interact with several other top models in the industry.

Komal truly believes that this helped shape her personality more than anything else. However, she truly believes that beauty comes from within and wishes to contribute majorly towards social work through this platform. She aims to use the limelight she receives in the best possible way to highlight the causes that need a hearing and thereby making the world a better place, step by step.

Post her beauty pageant wins, the squash professional turned model also has found a place in the big screen! When asked about her upcoming projects, she says it is too early to mention them. Nevertheless, we can soon look forward to seeing her in the tamil song “Azaga ponnu”. Another feather on her cap is her upcoming song (Yes, she sings too) called “Forgive us forever” which is directed and written by Gautham Ilangovan and Music by Prem Anand. It only gets better given that this song is being made in order to create awareness about saving the environment. This project is still under pre-production stage and has us all eagerly waiting.

All this glamour and limelight doesn’t change the fact that she is still a simple and loving girl at heart, going after her dreams! She says it is 90% hard work and 10% luck that has brought her to where she stands today and we have no doubts about it. Her parents and her mentor have been her biggest support at whatever she has taken up until date. Komal believes to take up projects that she is only passionate about and not otherwise.

Regardless of her new projects and career shifts to modelling, acting and other platforms, squash is always on her schedule. She makes time to fit in a game or workout every now and then, to keep her healthy physically as well as mentally.
