India consist of 77% middle class families. In that most of the woman in each family are degree holders but they won’t have their own career. They all are just expected to be an educated housewife of the family, to take care of the children, household and Elders. This article is about how middleclass women are tend to stoop according to the family.
Boy child’s arrival is most awaiting in the middleclass family.when it comes girl child there is always a talk which is stereotypical and patriarchial “if this would have been a boy then they think he will be the saviour of family.
There will be certain budgets allocated by the father for each of the expences in the family along with that she has restrictions. Since birth the girl child will have the middle class tag in all her life happenings. If she has a male sibling she will have the position of step back from her sibling. In all her happenings she has a certain calculated circle where she shouldn’t do any thing out of that estimated circle of her father.
In all her stages of life there is restrictions for women but for middleclass women it is more muddling. She always within the mundane, dependent, reluctant, not permitted to act alone at any stage of life. She is a puppet of the family to make movements according to the wish of the family. She has to work for the family, for their wish. The occupation might be she doing but the job is choosen by the family and their standards. Strictly restricted to have higher dreams and after completing her education all that they will end up is in marriage.This too not upto her own wish she has to marry the stranger who is known only for few days before marriage.
After marriage she will be into another level of locked bubble where she has to forget herself.
