Cooking has always been considered an important element of women’s lives, as seen in many cliché soap operas and contemporary love novels. Cooking plays a fundamental part in women’s lives. They are always expected to care for the house and families. Women have traditionally and even now been responsible for all household chores, including meal planning and grocery shopping. Cooking can be both rewarding and oppressive for women.

Sometimes, it is a means of expressing creativity while providing nourishing meals for loved ones. Other times, cooking could be quite stressful, since they are made to feel like they are expected to do it for belonging to the female gender. It can be quite tedious, making it hard for women as they are trying to balance work as well as family. This might limit their opportunities to pursue their passions or careers, which is particularly true for single mothers who have other responsibilities as well.

Despite these obstacles, cooking might be empowering for women depending on how it is seen and appropriated. Women are breaking boundaries and contributing significantly to the culinary field, despite the fact that historically speaking, cooking has supported the formation of various gender stereotypes.

Even today, working women are expected to care for their homes and families, where cooking is regarded as a significant element of their identity. Cooking could be used to connect and bond with other women by cooking together. But this could also mean that they have considerably less time and energy for their own education and interests. Despite these difficulties, cooking might be emancipatory for women, when seen with passion.

Even to this day, working women are expected to care for their entire house and family. Cooking is considered to be a vital part of that caretaker’s job. Cooking may help women connect with one another by sharing recipes. But this also comes at the cost of them having less time and energy for their own careers, and hobbies.

In women’s lives, cooking has always been a major aspect, unconsciously shaping and molding their identity. It can have both positive and negative impacts on the external and internal aspects of their lives, making the topic sensitive and tricky.
