1. Go bare-faced

If you are someone who is not comfortable stepping out without make-up, trust us this one time. Although it sounds counter-intuitive to looking great (As we all believe make-up does magic to our beauty), just this once, put it aside. Having make-up on your face for long hours especially in an airtight cabin with additional air pressure, can cause break outs as well as clog your pores. This will in turn make your skin look dull and dirty.

If you still think you really the need the makeup, opt for the bare minimum. Hydrate your skin well enough before travelling by drinking lots of water, nourishing your skin with a moisturiser and keeping your lips soft and supple. Going bare-faced will help your face look fresh and clean even after long hours of travel. It also allows you to keep up with your skin care regime during travel.

2. Avoid eating salty food

Salty foods can leave you dehydrated. Dehydrated skin could be your worst enemy by making you look dull and lifeless. Most of the food we opt for before flying are quick bites in the airport that are usually junk food. Air travel already dehydrated your body and obstructs with your blood circulation. Sodium content present in your food will just make this worse for you. If you have noticed your face, hands and feet slightly bloat after flying, it might be due to dehydration caused due to lack of water and more sodium in the body.

3. Get some sleep

Sleep solves a lot of problems, including this one that we are talking about. Instead of working on your laptop or indulging in a movie marathon on the plane, use this time productively to catch up on some sleep. Don’t forget to carry an eye cover mask to comfortably put you to sleep. Getting sleep on the plane not only has you arriving fresh at the destination, but also saves you time of getting on the time zone of your place.
