India has amassed 15 presidents, and the only woman to clasp the post was Pratibha Patil in 2007. Presently, Droupadi Murmu is the 15th President of India. Pratibha Patil is an Indian politician and lawyer who came to be the only female President of India.
Smt. Pratibha Patil, the 12th president of India, inferred the office of the President of India on 25 July 2007 and with that, she came to be the first woman to clasp the presidential office. She gave rise to with her a rich legislative experience in the Maharashtra State Assembly and of both Houses of the Parliament besides a sound legal knowledge and a keen intention to make discrepancies in the life of the socially oppressed. Pratibha Patil was also the first Maharashtrian to come to be President. Before fulfilling the first woman president of India, Patil fulfilled as the governor of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2007, the first woman to carry this office as well.
In November 2004, she was nominated as the 24th Governor of Rajasthan, and with this title, she also came to be the first woman to hold that office . In the voting procedure for the President of India, Patil garnered almost two-thirds of the votes and took office as India’s first woman president on July 25, 2007, Pratibha Patil was called as the most lenient President in 30 years since 1981.
Her longtime federation with the Gandhi family made her a favourite of Congress Party leader Sonia Gandhi, and her name was brought forward as a nominee for the largely formal role of President.She fulfilled the office from 25 July 2007 to July 2012, but her presidency was fairly quiet & not without controversy; she was denounced for using government funds for the huge number of trips she took overseas, always support by her relatives.
Pratibha patil, has ever been almost linked to social works, education and supportive movement. as the president of India she attained enormous success glory and gratitude. she always gave dignity and motivation to fight, poverty, disease, undernourishment and infant mortality.
